To nurture innovation as a force for good in healthcare managers have to hold on to 3 key principles: promoting a culture of transparency, where any actor involved is free to contribute and raise questions; knowing one's own value chain and how it compares to the stakeholders', as a key to maintain a healthy alignment between goals and actionability; identifying the sectors/domains where a blame free culture is beneficial, and necessary, and those where a healthy spending control can become a leverage for change.
